Geolocation Troubleshooting: How to Fix Common Issues
We’re sorry you're having trouble with geolocation. Please follow these steps to help resolve the issue:
Blocked Software
Certain programs on your computer may block the Geo Location plug-in to prevent access from outside of your registered state. Disable any such software to allow proper detection.
Virtual Networks (VPN)
Using a VPN can interfere with geolocation and block access. Disable your VPN and use your regular network connection.
Remote Desktop Software
Programs like LogMeIn or GoToMyPC must be disabled as they can prevent geolocation from working correctly.
Incorrect IP Address
If your IP address shows as outside of your registered state, it may be assigned to a neighboring state by your ISP. Try restarting your router for a few minutes to reset your IP. If the issue persists, contact your ISP for assistance in correcting the IP assignment.
Enable Wi-Fi
Wi-Fi doesn’t need to be your active connection, but it must be turned on so we can track nearby networks for accurate location verification. Ensure Wi-Fi is enabled on your device. If you're in an area with a weak signal, try moving to a place with better connectivity.
